Greater Mohali Area Development Authority [GMADA] strives to enhance the economic growth potential of Chandigarh and its surrounding areas. With the growing urbanization and congestion of existing cities, GMADA has conceived the idea of developing a new, independent, and self-sustaining city that will cater to the spillover of the projected growth of Chandigarh and Mohali over the coming years. It aims at putting development controls in place so that New Chandigarh will become a township that is in harmony with its environment and nature.
