Almost a year back, we were searching for a good 2 BHK house for a relative of ours . We realized that there were no decently sized, good quality homes available below 47 Lakhs in and around Mysore. However, their budget was limited to 30-35 Lakhs only. This prompted us to dig in more information and understand the state of housing for Middle income groups. We found that people were paying a rent of 12,000-15,000 for a 2 BHK house all through their life and were not able to afford a house until they were old.
